A file from Associated Press Photo and Wide World Photos with about 30 photographs offering a picture story of the 1960s.
Retracing major international events that occurred in the 1960s, the file includes images of the self-immolation of Quang Duc, a Buddhist monk, to protest alleged persecution of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government; the historic meeting of the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches at Vatican City; funeral processions of leaders, such as Presidents Gamal Nasser, General De Gaulle, and Dr. Martin Luther King; the Nazi trial of Adolf Eichmann; images of James Meredith shot during his one-man "March Against Fear;" and Racial protest at the 1968 Olympic Games. Silver ferrotyped prints, the images measuring approximately 8½x6½ inches (21.6x16.5 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, most with a Wide World Pictures or an Associated Press stamp, and most with a press clipping or slug, on verso. 1961-70; printed 1960s-70s
